When you want to make them the "old fashion" way

Home Made Corn Tortillas

INGREDIENTS

500 ml Tio Pablo Corn Masa Mix
250 ml Water


DIRECTIONS

  1. Place Tio Pablo Corn Masa Mix in a bowl and add water.
  2. Mix thoroughly for 2 to 3 minutes until dough forms a firm ball or is slightly tacky. If the ball is dry, add 1-2 tablespoons more water.
  3. Divide dough into 12 equal balls and cover with a damp cloth to keep dough moist.
  4. Flatten ball in hands and place between two sheets of waxed paper.
  5. Roll out or press in a Tortilla Press until tortillas measure 5-6 inches in diameter.
  6. Peel off and place on pre-heated (medium flame, 230 – 250 C) un-greased skillet or griddle for 30 seconds, then turn and continue cooking another 45 seconds.
    Turn once more for 20 seconds or until specks of brown appear.
  7. Cover the tortillas to keep soft and pliable or place in a Tortilla Warmer.
